President Ngwazi Dr Bingu wa Mutharika has started paying Malawians back for voting him into power by delivering what he promised the people.
One of the items that Ngwazi Mutharika has already delivered is on the education.
Minister of Education Science and Technology Dr George Chaponda has disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Malawi Digest that work is at an advanced stage of rehabilitating several secondary schools in Malawi.
“Work is about to be concluded on rehabilitation of several national secondary schools including Dedza, Blantyre, Mzuzu and others,” said the minister.
He said so far, he has been impressed with the kind of progress that he has seen on the rehabilitated national secondary schools.
“These secondary schools are historical, they have to be taken care of,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chaponda has disclosed to Malawi Digest that the Bingu wa Mutharika administration is also rehabilitating 70 community day secondary schools in an African Development Bank funded project.
“The first phase in this project is to rehabilitate 40 community day secondary schools and so far work has been completed on 29 schools,” he said.
He said following the completion of these 40 schools, the Mutharika administration will rehabilitate 30 other schools bringing a total to 70.
President Bingu wa Mutharika has always said he puts education as one of his priority areas-Malawi Digest.
