Who said Prof Mutharika can't dance?

Malawi's Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is not only good at Law, he is also very good at taking dancing steps. In this Malawi Digest picture, Professor Mutharika was captured enjoying himself during the official opening of Amalika Teacher Training College in the mountainous tea growing district of Thyolo on 21st August, 2009.

In the picture, Professor Mutharika (right) joins pupils from the award winning Nahache Primary School of Thyolo in Lhomwe's most respected traditional dance Soopa (Tchopa).

Professor Mutharika has been joined in the dancing arena by fellow cabinet ministers including Eunice Kazembe and George Chaponda.

Although highly educated, Professor Peter Mutharika is reported to be very good at mixing with people from the grass roots.

Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is brother to Malawi President Ngwazi Dr Bingu wa Mutharika and also parliamentarian in his home area, Thyolo East.Pic exclusively by Malawi Digest.

  1. Wawa Professor. You will make a good Malawi President in 2014. Mix freely with the people, that's the trick.

  11. Ndiponso Mayi Joyce Banda ndi mayi wopanda manyazi, she parades like an innocent woman koma ntchito kulanda amuna anzake. She wants us to believe that she is a family woman, you should ask the real mrs Banda, Susan Banda's mother, she will tell you how evil this woman is. Even Shanil can testify on this, she once chased her out of Sanjika atatenga ma cake oti akamupase Muluzi, mayi woyipa ameneyou

  12. our country would develop further if Prof took over from the brother come 2014. The truth of the matter is that we want continuity. Development is a long process and if we disrupt what Bingu has started, we will cry. Prof is the right guy to take over. I hope he is interested in the presidency.

  18. i would love prof munthalika to be the president of mw soon after bingu, he is intelligent enough to be the president of mw not anthu form two ya ku DEC kumalamulira dziko anthu ophunzira aliko ai,komanso mwina amenewa anaimba ya kwacha not DEC, I MEAN bkl mlz,

  19. we have seen that intelliegence is not everything...si umunthu. we have also seen charisma is not everything...sinzeru.Nzeru is not everything....it is not wisdom. obviously what we need is a balance of all three: umunthu, nzeru (knowhow) and wisdom. i would also like to see a balance in people's comments. is this how you were raised? is this how you disprespect your elders and leaders? showing support for someone does not call for kunyoza winayo. and calling her hule does not show utsilu wa Joyce banda koma wanu... chifukwa muli anonymous ndiye you can speak like an imbacile? shame on you! and more to the point, shame on those who do not even have the decency to remember they were fine with this "hule" until the election was won. this user mentality back fires quickly. in the end, this is not teh malawian way. we have once had values andintegrity now we have conniving two faced hypocricy. kaya! i dont know...

  23. F Chaponda for using the four letter f word that is just as bad as another four letter f word! In fact it's worse! Use words like flatulence, gas fumes, butt fumes instead! And a big hearty f you to all newspapers that use the gaseous f word especially the retards at the Globe & Mail! May you all burn in hell for this where you belong!
