Malawi President Ngwazi Dr Bingu wa Mutharika is this Wednesday morning meeting journalists from the country’s media houses at the New State House in the administrative capital, Lilongwe.
According to information gathered by Malawi Digest, the press conference to be addressed by the Head of State is expected to start at 10 am.
Although the main focus of the conference has not been disclosed by the State House, the meeting is expected to be centred on the State President’s recent successful trips to Brazil and the United States of America.
Ngwazi Dr Bingu wa Mutharika was in Brazil for a state visit before proceeding to the USA for the United Nations General Assembly.
Whilst in the US, the Miami based Foundation for Democracy in Africa, honoured Ngwazi Dr Bingu wa Mutharika with the Medal of Glory award.
This is the highest honour by the organisation awarded to leaders who are making a difference in the lives of their people.
Ngwazi Dr Mutharika was recognised for the promotion of democracy in Malawi and uplifting the lives of Malawians through the country’s economic successes in the last five years as well as food security

The addressing of this press conference by Ngwazi Dr Bingu wa Mutharika three-days after his arrival is contrary to propaganda reports by some opposition funded media that the State President shunned journalists when he landed in the country at Kamuzu International Airport on Sunday.
